THE VENUE:  2-1609 Blanshard St (at Fisgard)

The Club is a delightful little 50 seat venue with a basic lighting grid, sound system and collapsible risers.  Its a great rehearsal space, photo studio, performance space and meeting room.  It is available on much shorter notice than the Metro Studio and at pretty much any time of day.

The approach at the Club is very much one of self sufficiency.  We want you to do your thing on your own without us meddling too much.  You can provide your tech person to use our equipment if you are simply turning the equipment on, using the house  light set up as it is and not moving anything or programming cues.  You may supply someone to do this as long as they come for an orientation session before your rental. If you need to move any lights, change the gel colours in the lights or anything involving programing the board or ladders, you will need to hire one of our technicians to set it up for you.  The minimum call is 2 hours and they can come it, set it all for you and show you how to run it.  The Club is cheap because it’s simple.  You can do a lot with that.

Tech Specs

The Intrepid Club has a very basic tech set up.  We’ve got a 24 channel Strand Genius lighting board, a sound board with a plug-in for your laptop or iPOD, a CD player, an amp and two house speakers.  We also have a white drape upstage that can be projected on to but no projector in house.

Renters have the option of supplying their own technician, but that person must come in for an orientation session before the keys are handed over.  If you would like us to supply a tech, they bill at $22.50/hr up to eight hours.
